How Big Is 1 Marla? 225 vs 272.25 Square Feet
A marla is not the same size everywhere in Pakistan. In Lahore district, and in the housing societies built there, 1 marla is 225 square feet, so a kanal (20 marla) is 4,500 square feet. The older revenue standard, still found in land records in much of Punjab, uses 272.25 square feet per marla, which makes a kanal 5,445 square feet and an acre exactly 8 kanal.
